About the Project
In the age food delivery apps, home cooking is on the decline while food spending is skyrocketing. Savvor is the all-in-one food savviness tool which aims to improve people’s cooking and meal planning abilities without compromising budget, dietary preferences, convenience and most importantly, deliciousness.

The Problem
The explosive popularity of food-delivery apps such as Uber Eats and DoorDash has led to a growing reliance on these services by young adults for their meals. This is due to a number of factors, including the convenience of having food delivered to your door, and the wide variety of restaurants that are available on these apps.
As a result, many young adults rely on food delivery apps for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Despite the popularity, there are some potential downsides to relying on food-delivery apps. For example, these apps can get expensive, the food is often unhealthy, and the choices become repetitive over time.
The Solution
Savvor is a smart shopping list app that helps you keep track of the ingredients you already have at home. It also suggests meals based on your ingredients, budget, and dietary preferences. This means saving time and money, as you won't have to go to the store as often and you'll be less likely to buy ingredients that you don't need. Savvor also helps reduce food waste, as you'll be able to use up the ingredients that you already have.

Research
I went on to conduct semi-structured virtual interviews with a group of 6 independent adults who eat out at restaurants at different rates, some more than others, to get to know what it is that makes them gravitate towards ordering Uber Eats, or getting take-out rather than cook at home
By cross-referencing my secondary research with primary data and my personal experiences, I was able to reach well-informed conclusions and begin synthesizing the information at hand.
This helped me understand what the end product should look, feel and function like.
Based on this research, I concluded Savvor should satisfy 6 main criteria to successfully reach its intended goal.

The Brand
When thinking about Savvor and the issues it aims to solve, it's important to consider the feelings it aims to evoke in the user. Simple, friendly, human, organic, and relaxing are all words that come to mind. This is reflected in the soft, organic color palette, which is complemented by simple, human-made shapes. A high priority is placed on slowly pacing information intake using pleasant, forgiving element interactions.
